This was the part of the ending which I found .. to be frank, gay. Like the game didn't already give us enough AngealxZack shipping by having Angeal touch Zack's sword without permission all the time.

He did! I kept getting confused why Angeal suddenly used it. Heck, in chapter .. 5? .. where Angeal suddenly grabs Zack from behind and flies with him "Flying feels kind of good" .. I'm always like. ".. what."

Oh, I love the game, too! It's just that Square Enix gives us so much Yaoi shipteases it's starting to lose it's grip. (They made it better when they made Lightning look like Cloud, with Aerith's voice .. that'll be weird)
